Burglaries Reported in Chelsfield Ward

Metropolitan Police have recently received reports of burglaries in the Chelsfield Ward area. Officers are carrying out enquiries and would like to remind residents to take simple steps to help protect their homes and property.

Crime Prevention Advice:

✅ Ensure all doors and windows are locked, even when you are at home.
✅ Keep keys out of sight and away from letterboxes.
✅ Use timer switches on lights when away from home.
✅ Make sure side gates, sheds and garages are secured.
✅ Consider installing CCTV, video doorbells or burglar alarms where appropriate.
✅ Avoid leaving valuable items on display from windows.
✅ Ask trusted neighbours to keep an eye on your property if you are away.

✅ Consider installing a small, securely fixed safe for storing jewellery, passports, cash, and other high-value items. A safe that is bolted to a wall or floor is significantly more difficult for offenders to remove and can reduce the impact of a burglary.

Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour, vehicles or individuals in the area. If something doesn't feel right, please report it to Metropolitan Police via 101 or online. In an emergency, always call 999.
